Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly organized Hospice Director of operations to oversee the daily operations of our hospice care facility. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in medical office management, healthcare administration, and supervisory roles within clinical settings. This pivotal position involves coordinating administrative functions, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, managing financial and human resources, and supporting clinical staff to deliver compassionate end-of-life care. The Hospice Office Manager will serve as a key leader in fostering an efficient, compliant, and patient-centered environment.

Responsibilities

Oversee all administrative functions within the hospice office, including scheduling, patient records management, and billing processes.
Supervise administrative and clinical support staff, providing leadership, training, and performance evaluations to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Manage fiscal responsibilities such as budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation to maintain operational efficiency.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations) standards, and other applicable laws.
Coordinate with medical personnel to facilitate smooth clinic operations, including EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation and data management.
Oversee human resources functions such as hiring, onboarding, staff development, and conflict resolution within the team.
Maintain accurate medical records while ensuring confidentiality and adherence to medical terminology standards.
Collaborate with healthcare providers on utilization management, managed care plans, and ensuring quality patient care in compliance with federal and state regulations.

Requirements

Proven experience in medical office management or healthcare administration within a hospice or similar clinical environment.
Strong supervisory experience overseeing administrative or clinical teams in a healthcare setting.
Extensive knowledge of medical office systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or EMR/EHR platforms like Epic or eClinicalWorks.
Familiarity with healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance and JCAHO accreditation standards.
Proficiency in fiscal management including budgeting, financial oversight, and resource planning.
Experience working with medical terminology, medical records management, and billing procedures related to hospice care.
Demonstrated ability to manage office operations efficiently while maintaining a compassionate approach to patient care.
