Vision Care Consultants is a Locally, Family Owned Optometry office for over 50 Years! We are a professional, fast-paced office that delivers exceptional eyecare. Vision Care Consultants is looking for an Administrative Assistant to join our practice. Our Administrative Assistants work as a team at our front desk to ensure we give our patients an experience of professionalism and care they can't find anywhere else. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of administrative tasks, is friendly and motivated with an outgoing personality, great customer service and phone skills, will have excellent organizational skills, must be able to multitask efficiently, and possess strong communication skills. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK FULL TIME HOURS

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:

Must be punctual and dependable
Follow directions of Trainers, Supervisors, Managers, and Doctors
Greet patients and provide assistance as needed
Patient check in, including verification of insurance
Patient check out, including applying insurance and taking payments
Answer multi-line phones, schedule appointment and confirm appointments
Triage phone calls
Instruct patients on medical care as prescribed by the Doctors' treatment plan
Respond to patient's telephone inquiries regarding contact lenses, medication, and treatment, - referring to Doctor as necessary
Record and maintain patient records in compliance with company, federal, and state policies (HIPAA)
Multitask and work well in a busy work environment
Detail oriented
Participate in mandatory biweekly staff meetings
Abide by all policies and procedures stated in our employee manual

Working Condition and Physical/Mental Demands:

Healthcare office setting
Team Oriented
Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching and stretching
Ability to move quickly throughout the office and climb steps
Ability to stand for an extended time
Must be capable of undergoing an extensive 90 day training period
Must be able to work 40 hours a week including Saturday availability

Skills/Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent
Effective verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with co-workers, patients, and outside vendors
Basic Computer skills
Use of Multi-line phone
1+ year(s) HEALTHCARE ADMINISTRATION PREFERRED
