Full Job Description

Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Machine Operator and become a vital contributor to our innovative plastics production operations. In this energetic role, you will operate and optimize thermoforming machinery and various types of other machinery (CNCs, laser, saw, machining center, and benders) as well as assembly and packaging to produce high-quality plastic components efficiently and safely. Your expertise will help ensure our manufacturing processes run smoothly, meet quality standards, and continuously improve through lean manufacturing principles. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in plastics fabrication, machining, and materials handling within a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

This is a Union position, and applicants will be required to join the Union after 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities:

Set up, operate, and monitor all machines, ensuring optimal performance and product quality.
Conduct routine inspections of formed and manufactured plastic parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to verify specifications.
Perform quality inspections throughout the production process, identify defects or deviations from standards and implement corrective actions.
Handle materials safely using forklifts and other warehouse equipment, ensuring proper storage and movement of raw materials and finished goods.
Assist with other tasks including plastics fabrications, assembly and packaging as needed.
Maintain detailed documentation of production activities, machine maintenance logs, and quality reports to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Support lean manufacturing practices by identifying waste reduction opportunities and participating in process improvement projects.

Qualifications:

Proven experience operating thermoforming machinery within a manufacturing or plastics environment.
Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in machining processes such as CNC lathe, CNC machining, fabrication tools, hand tools, and measuring instruments.
Knowledge of plastics processing techniques including thermoforming molding, and various types of other machinery (CNCs, laser, saw, machining center, and benders) and related fabrication methods.
Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings; proficiency with precision measuring instruments like micrometers and calipers is essential.
Warehouse experience, including materials handling with forklifts; certification is preferred but not required.
Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations, and quality assessments.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency and waste reduction in production workflows.
Strong attention to detail combined with excellent problem-solving skills to ensure high-quality output consistently.
