On Site Advanced MSP Technician
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and client-focused Senior MSP Engineer to serve as the primary onsite technology resource for a professional services organization. This individual will be responsible for supporting and improving all aspects of the technology environment, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, Microsoft 365, networking, automation, AI technologies, and end-user support. The successful candidate will be a trusted advisor who combines technical expertise with professionalism, strong communication skills, and a passion for continuous improvement. This is a hands-on role requiring a proactive individual who takes ownership, identifies opportunities for improvement, and drives solutions with minimal supervision. A practical exam will be required for all applicants.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Support & Service Delivery
- Provide Tier II and Tier III support for desktops, laptops, servers, cloud platforms, networking equipment, and business applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues affecting users and business operations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client technology-related support and escalations.
- Maintain high levels of customer service, professionalism, and responsiveness.
- Build trusted relationships with employees, management, and executive leadership.
Systems Administration & Infrastructure Management
- Administer and support Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Entra ID.
- Manage Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, and file services.
- Support virtualization platforms, backup systems, storage solutions, and business continuity technologies.
- Monitor system health and proactively address operational risks.
- Perform patch management, upgrades, and lifecycle management for systems and applications.
Cybersecurity & AI Security
- Maintain and improve the organization's cybersecurity posture.
- Support endpoint protection, EDR solutions, security monitoring, and vulnerability remediation.
- Administer and support SonicWall firewalls and related security technologies.
- Evaluate and mitigate risks associated with Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and platforms.
- Assist with AI governance, acceptable use practices, data protection controls, and secure AI adoption.
- Ensure business and client information remains protected when leveraging AI technologies.
- Promote cybersecurity and AI security awareness across the organization.
Automation & Process Improvement
- Develop scripts and automation solutions using PowerShell and other administrative tools.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, reduce manual effort, and increase operational efficiency.
- Recommend and implement technology solutions that enhance productivity and security.
- Participate in planning and executing infrastructure, cloud, and technology improvement projects.
Documentation & Knowledge Management
- Maintain exceptional technical documentation standards.
- Create and update network diagrams, system documentation, procedures, knowledge base articles, and configuration records.
- Ensure all support activities, changes, and projects are properly documented.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of operational best practices and standard operating procedures.
- The ability to track work progress in PSA as work is performed is critical.
Required Qualifications Experience
- Minimum 7 years of progressive IT experience supporting Microsoft-based business environments.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working within a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment.
- Proven history of independently supporting complex infrastructure, cloud, security, and business technology environments.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively support executive leadership, end users, and business stakeholders.

Work Schedule & Location (****Full time On Site Required****)
- Full-time onsite position.
- Monday through Friday work schedule.
- Expected onsite presence of 40 hours per week.
- Must be comfortable working directly with employees and leadership on a daily basis.
- Possible travel to support client projects, multiple office locations, and technology initiatives may be required. Position is full time in Charlotte, NC.
- Must possess a valid drivers license and a reliable source of transportation.

Ideal Candidate Summary
The ideal candidate is a seasoned MSP professional with 7+ years of IT experience and 5+ years in an MSP environment, deep expertise across Microsoft and cybersecurity technologies, strong AI and AI security awareness, exceptional communication and documentation skills, and a proven track record of taking initiative, solving problems independently, and delivering outstanding client service.
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
