Full Job Description

To support the ministries and the many community groups that use our facility, we are seeking a dedicated and reliable Evening Custodian. This role is vital to providing a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our congregation and guests.

Position Summary

As our Evening Custodian, you will be a key part of our operations team, ensuring our building is well-maintained and prepared for daily activities. Your service creates a hospitable space where our community can gather for worship, education, and fellowship. This position requires a person who finds purpose in their work, is diligent, and can work independently to uphold the standards of our church home. You will work in coordination with our Day Custodian to provide seamless care for our building.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for a variety of cleaning, room setup and light maintenance duties that ensure our facilities are cared for with excellence. Your work allows our ministries to flourish in a clean and orderly setting.

Perform general cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting throughout the facility.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, ensuring they are well-stocked with paper products and soap.
Collect and empty all trash and recycling receptacles.
Set up tables and chairs for church meetings and community events as needed, and return them to storage afterward.
Ensure all interior and exterior doors are securely locked at the end of each shift.
Monitor the building for any maintenance needs or safety concerns and report them promptly to the Office Manager.
Perform seasonal duties as needed.

Schedule and Compensation

This is a part-time position designed to support our evening activities and prepare our space for the following day.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Additional: Select weekend hours as needed (Friday off is replaced by Saturday or Sunday).
Rate: $18.00 per hour
Benefits: Paid Time Off (PTO) and other benefits, where applicable.

Reporting Structure

You will be an integral part of our dedicated staff team. You will report directly to the Office Manager, who will provide guidance, support, and direction for your responsibilities.
