Full Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE

To assist the Executive Director with the Housing Authority’s operations, including property management, planning, budgeting/finance, and implementation of policies and procedures, and maintenance of 71 public housing units and 2 non-PHA units.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Answer & direct phone calls.
Type letters, statements, and other materials as requested.
Collect rent, deposits, etc., prepare receipts and posting of payments.
Handle & record monthly rent deposits
Compose spreadsheets that reflects rent, excess utility charges, security deposits, etc.
Write up work orders from calls requesting maintenance work.
Maintain required files, records, and applicant files per regulations.
Maintain continued verbal and written communication with all tenants regarding issues related to the HUD properties.
Schedule and perform annual inspections.
Assist in the development of new procedures and enforcement.
Distribute forms to applicant and participants upon request and assist with their proper completion.
Prepare & process lease applications.
Conduct annual re-examination in a timely manner as required.
Review & accurately calculate interim income changes.
Maintain current and accurate waiting lists.
Study and maintain knowledge of current program regulations for proper administration of the public housing program
Perform other duties as may be requested.

SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS

Strong Communication Skills
Ability to work with accounting, spreadsheet and word processing software.
Ability to work in fast paced environment, which requires ability to multitask, and handle frequent interruptions.
Ability to organize work efficiently and maintain accurate records.
Ability to deal with the public in a tactful and efficient manner.
Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
Strong Communication Skills.

EDUCATION

Associate’s degree in business or accounting or related field preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 2 years related experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

HOURS

Part-time or Full-time position, ranging from 20-36 hours per week, based on the needs of the successful candidate. Position would be Monday-Friday with hours between 8am-4:30pm.
