Full Job Description

High-Complexity Immunoassays | Luminex Platform

Location: [Irvine, CA] (On-site)
Schedule: Per diem, ~8–10 hours/week (1–2 days/week)
Employment Type: Independent Contractor (1099)
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience

About the Role

We are a California-licensed CLIA laboratory performing high-complexity multiplex immunoassays on the Luminex platform in a regulated clinical environment. We are seeking an experienced California-licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) to perform patient testing on a per-diem, contract basis.

This role is ideal for a CLS seeking flexible, part-time work in an industry-facing laboratory setting.

Responsibilities

Perform high-complexity clinical testing using multiplex immunoassays on the Luminex platform
Follow established SOPs, quality control, and quality assurance procedures
Review and document:
QC results
Reagent performance
Instrument maintenance and troubleshooting
Accurately document testing activities in accordance with CLIA and CDPH-LFS requirements
Participate in:
Competency assessments
Proficiency testing as assigned
Communicate testing issues to the Technical Supervisor or Laboratory Director

Required Qualifications

Active California CLS license (required; must be in good standing)
Experience performing high-complexity testing in a CLIA laboratory
Background in immunoassays
Knowledge of Luminex platform
Strong attention to documentation and regulatory compliance
Comfortable working independently in a regulated environment

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in:

Industry or LDT laboratories
Assay validation or verification
Familiarity with CAP or FDA-facing documentation (a plus)

Regulatory & Compliance Notes

This role performs patient testing and therefore requires on-site presence
The CLS will function as testing personnel under CLIA and CDPH-LFS
Scientific oversight, training, and assay validation are provided by senior laboratory leadership

Pay: $45.11 - $54.32 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 10 per week

License/Certification:

California CLS license (Required)
