Vice President – Sales, International Freight Forwarding

Location: Allen, TX (Hybrid, but local to DFW)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: Competitive Base Salary + Uncapped Commission

Position Summary

Sealink International is seeking an experienced Vice President of Sales to lead our International Freight Forwarding sales organization.

This executive leadership role is ideal for a high-performing sales professional who has successfully built and led sales teams while consistently driving profitable growth within the international freight forwarding industry.

This position is focused exclusively on international freight forwarding, including international air and ocean transportation. Candidates whose experience is primarily limited to domestic transportation will not be considered. All candidates MUST HAVE detailed experience in the US and with all the US Trades lanes (destination routes and primary commodities within each region/lane.)

All candidates should still be well versed and be able to speak to Domestic Intermodal transportation.

The Vice President of Sales will be responsible for developing sales strategy, building and mentoring a high-performing team, expanding strategic customer relationships, and driving sustainable revenue and gross profit growth throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

As Vice President of Sales, you will:

Develop, lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing international freight forwarding sales team.
Establish and execute strategic sales plans that drive revenue and gross profit growth.
Identify, prospect, and secure new import and export customers across diverse industries.
Build long-term executive relationships with customers by understanding their supply chain needs and delivering customized logistics solutions.
Lead complex sales presentations, contract negotiations, and customer proposals.
Collaborate closely with Operations, Pricing, Customs Brokerage, Warehousing, and Executive Leadership to deliver exceptional customer solutions.
Develop accurate sales forecasts and maintain a healthy sales pipeline utilizing CRM and reporting tools.
Coach, mentor, and develop sales professionals while creating a culture of accountability and high performance.
Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activity to identify new business opportunities.
Represent Sealink International at customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events.

Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

15+ years of successful sales experience within the International Freight Forwarding industry.
Minimum 10 years of progressively increasing responsibility in international freight forwarding sales.
Demonstrated success selling international Air Freight and Ocean Freight services within U.S. import and export trade lanes.
Previous leadership experience managing, coaching, and developing successful sales teams.
Proven ability to consistently exceed revenue and gross profit objectives.
Strong understanding of:
International Air Freight
International Ocean Freight
Domestic Trucking
Drayage
Customs Brokerage
Warehousing
Intermodal Transportation
Experience developing strategic customer relationships from initial prospecting through long-term account growth.
Excellent negotiation, presentation, communication, and executive relationship-building skills.
Strong business acumen with the ability to develop sales strategies and execute against measurable objectives.
Experience utilizing CRM platforms to manage opportunities, forecast revenue, and maintain a rolling 3–6 month sales pipeline.
Self-motivated leader capable of working independently while collaborating effectively across departments.
Willingness to travel as required to meet customers, support business development efforts, and attend industry events.

Preferred Qualifications

Existing relationships within the international freight forwarding community.
Experience leading sales organizations through periods of significant growth.
Experience selling complex international logistics solutions to mid-market and enterprise customers.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
