Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Medical Billing & Accounts Receivable Coordinator to manage all aspects of billing and A/R in a healthcare facility. Candidates must have prior accounts receivable experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in skilled nursing.

Key Responsibilities

Manage monthly patient billing using a computerized skilled nursing A/R system/Matrixcare
Maintain and reconcile daily census reports with EMR/Sigmacare records
Process re-billing due to payer changes
Review and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)
Submit and track insurance appeals for denied claims
Perform collections and report outstanding balances to management
Respond to patient and family billing inquiries with excellent customer service
Maintain accurate resident account records and post payments
Month end close

Required Skills & Qualifications

3–5 years of skilled nursing billing experience required
Strong knowledge of Medicare (Part A), Medicaid, Managed Medicare, and private pay billing
Familiarity with PDPM billing guidelines
Experience with Matrixcare billing software (preferred)
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Teams and Excel
Understanding of medical and insurance terminology
Strong organizational, communication, and independent work skills
High school diploma required; some college preferred

Technical Skills

Knowledge of current coding and billing regulations
Ability to operate standard office equipment
Basic computer and internet proficiency
