Full Job Description

Job Summary

The Inventory Control Coordinator is responsible for executing daily cycle counts of ingredients, packaging materials, and finished products assigned by the Inventory Specialist. This role physically counts inventory, documents and reports variances, and partners with warehouse, production, and other stakeholders to protect inventory accuracy.

Accurate counting, clear variance reporting, and raising concerns when established processes are not being followed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Cycle Counting

Perform daily cycle counts of ingredients, packaging materials, and finished products according to the count schedule and priorities assigned by the Inventory Specialist.
Physically count inventory accurately by location, lot, and unit of measure, following established counting procedures.
Verify product identification, location accuracy, and date/lot information while counting, and flag product or packaging integrity issues observed during counts. (short dated, expired, etc.)

Variance Collection and Reporting

Document counts results and variances completely and legibly; submit them to the Inventory Specialist for review and system adjustment.
Recount locations as directed at confirming or resolve variances before they are escalated.
Share observations that may explain recurring variances (e.g., mislocated product, unlabeled pallets, staging practices) to support root cause identification.

Collaboration and Process Integrity

Team up with warehouse, production, receiving, and shipping personnel to gain access to locations, resolve count questions, and locate materials.
Provide regular, candid feedback to the Inventory Specialist on counting progress, obstacles, and observed process gaps.
Raise concerns promptly and professionally when established inventory handling, storage, or movement processes are not being followed, in support of improving inventory accuracy.
Collaborate with stakeholders across departments, reinforcing shared ownership of inventory accuracy.

Compliance and Safety

Follow all safety protocols and comply with GMPs and food safety standards, including allergen segregation and cold chain requirements where applicable.
Maintain clean, organized count areas and report unsafe conditions immediately.
·Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience in a warehouse, production, or inventory environment preferred; cycle counting experience a plus.
Strong attention to detail and basic math skills (counting, units of measure, simple conversions).
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to follow standardized procedures consistently and accurately.
Effective verbal and written communication; comfortable raising concerns constructively.
Ability to work independently on assigned counts while collaborating across teams.
Experience in food production or manufacturing preferred.

Physical Demands

Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Comfortable working in varying temperatures in a production/plant environment and high/loud noise level.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a production environment.
