Full Job Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented, strategic Quality Assurance Manager to lead and oversee all quality operations within our flexible packaging manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring that all products meet internal and external standards, customer specifications, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate has strong experience in quality systems, printing/packaging standards, and continuous improvement methodologies, while managing 3rd party food safety audits.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and manage the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with BRC standards.
Oversee inspection and testing protocols for incoming materials, in-process production, and final product output.
Manage and mentor a team of quality technicians and inspectors to ensure accuracy, consistency, and high performance.
Collaborate with the Product Development and Production teams by participating in engineering meetings and trials for new items with ultimate responsibility for the testing plan design and ultimate sign off.
Ensure compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g. FDA, BRC).
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions for non-conformances and customer complaints.
Establish and maintain documentation protocols including SOPs, quality reports, audits, and training records.
Coordinate and lead internal and external audits, including customer visits and regulatory inspections.
Collaborate with production, design, and maintenance teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma).
Maintain a strong focus on print quality standards, including color matching, substrate integrity, print registration, and packaging durability.

Qualifications:

Highly desired Bachelor’s degree in related field.
8+ years of quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment; experience in printing and packaging industries highly preferred.
Proven leadership experience managing QA teams in a fast-paced production environment.
Deep understanding of print processes (flexographic and offset), packaging materials, and relevant testing methods.
Experience managing high hygiene BRC food safety audits.
Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis, and quality improvement tools.
Certification(s) in Quality (e.g. CQE, CQA, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt) is a plus.
Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ERP/MES systems, and quality data tools.
