Full Job Description

Responsible to: Director of Social Services

Qualifications: Degree in Social Work from an accredited school; MS Social Work License; three to five years’ experience working in foster care

Work week: Full-time position; on call duties

Role Description

The Foster Care Community Program Director/Specialist is responsible for the development and maintenance of all areas of the Foster Care Community. The Foster Care Community helps families serving children and youth in CPS custody. The Foster Care Community will assist families by providing housing, training, and other supportive services. The Director will connect with local churches to gain support and meet tangible needs of the foster parents. The Director will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all internal and external policies and standards as well as effectively leading the program team in the accomplishment of their annual goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Create and support an enriched campus environment that supports the safety and well-being of all foster children and foster parents, with an emphasis on serving, leading, and developing foster children for success.

2. Maintain a working knowledge of all CPS Licensing standards, contract requirements, and Sunnybrook policies and standards, and ensure compliance at all times.

3. Ensure the development and implementation of an impactful Foster Care Community program.

a. Ensure that all program operations maintain quality standards.

b. Recruit foster parents who have the experience and ability to provide for the needs of the children in their home.

c. Recruit churches to inform of ongoing needs for the foster care community, including, but not limited to, meals, respite care, etc.

d. Provide pre-service training to prospective foster families to prepare for licensure.

e. Become certified to conduct SAFE home studies as a practitioner and supervisor.

f. Evaluate foster home environmental factors and personal characteristics of applicants to determine suitability of foster home.

g. Provide ongoing training opportunities to campus staff, foster parents, biological, adoptive, and foster parents in the community. This includes CPR/1st Aid/AED, TBRI, CPI, and other CPS related topics.

h. Provide oversight to homes on campus and in the community, ensuring all standards are met. Be a liaison between foster parents and CPS as needed.

4. Develop new and maintain current referral sources for foster parents and respite providers.

5. Provide crisis intervention services when needed and be available for after-hours emergencies as they arise through on-call schedule.

6. Perform other duties deemed necessary by administration.

Pay: $50,000.00 per year
