Full Job Description

Job Summary

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), where you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality rehabilitative care to diverse patient populations. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will assist licensed physical therapists in implementing personalized treatment plans, supporting patient recovery, and enhancing mobility. Your expertise in manual therapy, clinical documentation, and patient communication will contribute to positive outcomes across inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing, home health, and pediatric settings. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients’ lives while working within a collaborative healthcare environment.

Duties

Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and executing individualized care plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
Implement physical therapy treatments including manual therapy techniques, trigger point therapy, and other modalities to promote healing and mobility.
Monitor and document patient progress accurately using electronic health records (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with clinical documentation standards.
Operate medical equipment safely and effectively during therapy sessions, adhering to safety protocols.
Communicate clearly with patients and their caregivers to explain treatment procedures, progress, and discharge instructions.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals such as physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists to coordinate comprehensive care.
Support discharge planning by assessing patient needs post-treatment and providing appropriate recommendations for ongoing care or therapy.

Requirements

Valid certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) from an accredited program.
Proven experience in outpatient clinics, inpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, or home health environments.
Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy.
Skilled in clinical assessment documentation and medical documentation practices aligned with healthcare standards.
Proficiency in the operation of physical therapy equipment and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) management systems.
Experience with manual therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy and orthopedics treatments.
Excellent communication skills for effective caregiver and client interactions across diverse populations.
Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams in acute care or outpatient settings.
Knowledge of care plans development for various age groups including pediatrics and geriatrics is preferred.
