Overview

Join our vibrant team as a Barista working the 12 noon to 5 pm shift! In this energetic role, you'll be the friendly face that creates a welcoming atmosphere for customers while expertly preparing a variety of non-alcoholic beverages and food items. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will ensure every guest enjoys a top-notch experience. Whether you're crafting perfect coffee drinks or managing retail transactions, your positive attitude will help foster a lively, customer-focused environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your food service skills and be part of a dynamic team committed to excellence.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of non-alcoholic beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met.
Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS efficiently for retail sales transactions, cash handling, and processing payments accurately.
Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests warmly, taking orders promptly, and addressing inquiries with enthusiasm.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food handling, beverage preparation stations, and seating areas.
Follow food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers.
Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve multiple customers quickly while maintaining high standards of quality.
Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed to support smooth café operations.

Requirements

Previous food service or café experience is preferred, especially in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests.
Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and managing retail math calculations.
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques.
Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during shifts.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks related to cleaning and food prep.
