Full Job Description

Vak-Pak Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to oversee the organization’s financial operations. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting principles, financial compliance and management. This leadership role requires exceptional analytical skills, expertise with modern accounting systems, and the ability to ensure accurate reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other applicable requirements. The Controller will help safeguard financial integrity, manage cash flow, and support strategic decision-making.

Duties

Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger accounting, accounts payable/receivable, inventory, payroll, and account reconciliation.
Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements and maintain adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other applicable standards.
Prepare detailed financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for internal management and external stakeholders.
Manage cash flow forecasting, budgeting processes, and financial analysis to support organizational growth and stability.
Supervise the month-end and year-end closing processes with accuracy and timeliness.
Lead internal audits and coordinate external audits to ensure compliance and transparency.
Implement and maintain effective internal controls over financial processes.
Accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar platforms) to support efficient financial operations and reporting.
Manage multi-state sales tax compliance and related tax reporting.
Conduct account analysis and reconciliation to ensure accuracy of all financial data.
Monitor accounts receivable/payable functions to optimize cash management strategies.
Provide guidance on technical accounting matters, including double-entry accounting, regulatory requirements, and complex transactions.
Support organizational strategic planning through financial forecasting and analysis.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Extensive progressive experience in accounting, with a focus on corporate accounting.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, compliance standards, and regulatory reporting requirements.
Proven expertise in financial report writing, balance sheet reconciliation, account reconciliation, and general ledger management.
Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar platforms; experience with financial management tools is essential.
Demonstrated experience with inventory accounting and inventory management; manufacturing experience preferred.
Excellent understanding of cash management practices including accounts payable/receivable processes.
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data with strong attention to detail.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear financial reports and partner with senior leadership on financial strategy.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $92,000.00 per year
