Full Job Description

The Director of Operations, Taylors Communications (TCI), is a senior operational leader responsible for overseeing and advancing the performance of the low-voltage and cabling business unit. This role is designed to provide day-to-day leadership while building the strategic, financial, and operational capabilities required for future executive leadership.

The Director will partner closely with the VP of TCI to ensure operational continuity, scalability, and alignment with Goodwill of North Florida’s broader organizational priorities. This role plays a critical part in strengthening infrastructure, driving execution, and positioning the business for sustained growth.

Key responsibilities include leading and developing a high-performing team, optimizing operational efficiency, and supporting business development efforts to expand TCI’s market presence. The Director will champion a culture of continuous improvement, technical excellence, and exceptional customer service across all projects and client engagements.

Aligned with Goodwill’s mission to remove barriers to employment, the Director will also support workforce development initiatives within TCI. This includes advancing skill development, certifications, and career pathways for team members while building scalable models that integrate workforce training with commercial operations. The role ensures that TCI delivers both strong business outcomes and meaningful employment opportunities through secure, high-quality, and mission-aligned work.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Communications or related field (Master’s preferred). Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Minimum 6–8 years of progressive IT/data cabling/low voltage leadership experience.
Proven experience managing others in a multi-site, multi-functional environment.
Strong project management, vendor negotiation, and budgeting skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to engage across technical and non-technical teams.
IT or Data Cabling Certifications are a plus.

Job Duties

TCI Business Line Leadership & Support

Support the VP of TCI in executing the strategic direction, growth priorities, and overall performance of the business line.
Provide oversight and guidance to day-to-day operations, partnering with the Operations Manager to ensure effective service delivery, project execution, and operational consistency.
Ensure TCI systems, security protocols, and technical infrastructure align with Goodwill standards where appropriate, while accommodating client-specific requirements.
Serve as a key point of coordination for TCI technical operations, ensuring alignment between internal capabilities and external client and partner needs.
Partner with the VP to advance business development efforts, including pipeline growth, customer retention, and market expansion.
Support the design and implementation of workforce development programs, including training, certifications, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), to strengthen the talent pipeline and career pathways.

Operations Management Oversight

Provide direction and support to the Operations Manager, who is responsible for daily field execution, crew oversight, scheduling, and service delivery.
Establish clear performance expectations, KPIs, and accountability structures across operations.
Monitor operational performance and partner with the Operations Manager to address gaps, improve efficiency, and scale processes.

Team Leadership & Vendor Management

Build and develop a high-performing team, including technical, field, and support staff, with a focus on leadership bench strength and succession readiness.
Support budget management, financial performance tracking, licensing, and vendor contracts in partnership with the VP.
Maintain strong vendor and partner relationships, ensuring service levels, compliance, and contract expectations are met.
Promote a culture of accountability, customer focus, continuous improvement, and technical excellence across the TCI organization.
Other duties may be assigned as dictated by the needs of the business.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
