River Point Behavioral Health, a subsidiary of UHS, is an 84-bed treatment facility, conveniently located in beautiful central Jacksonville, FL that specializes in the successful treatment of substance abuse and mental health issues for youth, adults and seniors. Our progressive team members in the fields of psychiatry, medicine, nursing, social services, education and activity therapy are all committed to provide compassionate, comprehensive care that uniquely fits the intensity and severity of each patient’s needs. This commitment extends to the family and community of our patients as a whole.

Duties: This position is responsible for implementation of the nursing process in all aspects of patient care for all patient populations including mental health and chemical dependency treatment for children, adolescents and adults of all ages. Apply appropriate theories to psychiatric nursing practice for all patients to assure a comprehensive approach to patient care is maintained. Is in charge of and responsible for the operation of the ECT room. Assigns duties to and supervises the performance of other nursing staff. Makes frequent assessments of patients and reports any change in condition to the team leader and/or physician. Secures orders from physician, makes appropriate entries in chart, administers prescribed medications and treatments. Provides nursing care to patients, does patient teaching. Makes out reports and requisitions. Assists in other areas of ECT as needed.

Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited RN Program, Current RN license in the State of Florida, and Previous behavioral health experience preferred. Should have a thorough knowledge of nursing principles and procedures with knowledge and skill techniques of good patient care and interpersonal relationships. Recovery room experience preferred.
