Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist / Insurance Verification specialist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while efficiently managing front desk operations. Your expertise in insurance verification, medical administrative support, and electronic health records (EHR) management will ensure smooth clinic workflows and accurate documentation. Duties

Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression at the front desk
Verify patient insurance coverage
Review and update patient medical records accurately within EMR/EHR systems while maintaining strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA policies
Schedule patient appointments efficiently using medical scheduling tools and multi-line phone systems
Collect and process insurance information, including Medicare, Medicaid, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and other health insurance details
Conduct documentation review to ensure completeness and accuracy of medical records and care plans
Assist with medical billing processes, including coding and submitting claims to insurance providers
Maintain organized filing of medical records and correspondence in compliance with clinical confidentiality policies
Provide excellent patient service by answering phone inquiries with proper phone etiquette and managing intake procedures with professionalism
Support clinical staff with administrative tasks such as data entry, typing reports, and managing electronic health records (EHR)

Experience

Prior clinic experience or healthcare administrative support is highly preferred
Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems
Strong knowledge of health insurance processes including verification for Medicare and private insurers
Experience with medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10) and medical billing practices necessary
Demonstrated clerical experience involving filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and multi-line phone systems
Familiarity with clinical confidentiality policies and HIPAA regulations essential
Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite and health information management tools required
Exceptional customer service skills combined with effective phone communication and professional demeanor
