Part-Time Stagehand

VenuWorks of Jefferson City Missouri is seeking dedicated and energetic Part-Time Stagehands to join our event operations team. This role is crucial in ensuring the seamless execution of a wide variety of events, from concerts to community gatherings, by providing essential technical and physical support. SUMMARY

The Part-Time Stagehand performs a multitude of physical tasks related to event production, including facility changeovers, event load-in and load-out, and on-site event operations. This role requires flexibility, physical stamina, and a commitment to safety and teamwork.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties may be assigned.

Performs the load-in, changeover/show-call, and load-out of band and rental equipment.
Utilizes proper safety protocols for all aspects of concert production, including rigging and loading.
Assists audio, lighting, and video crew members with equipment placement, builds, and cabling.
Responsible for hanging show backdrops, building stage risers, and barricade placement.
Performs routine maintenance on stage, audio, lighting, barricade, and rigging equipment as needed.
Maintains curtains, drapes, risers, and other staging items.
Assists audio crew with stands, microphones, cables, etc.
Assists lighting crew with fixtures, lamps, cabling, ladders, etc.
Assists Special Effects crew with any necessary operational needs.
Assists with any Special Events operations.
Sets up and operates spotlights if necessary.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Reliable means of communication for scheduling and urgent contact.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to speak and understand English.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as instructions, policies, and procedures.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to maintain a calm, composed presence in an often fast-paced environment where multiple tasks, events, and stimuli may occur simultaneously.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical strength to set up and strike arena and perform other assigned tasks.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
