Controller / Operations Manager

Stuart, Florida

A growing manufacturing and distribution company serving major national Hardware retailers is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Controller / Operations Manager to join our team.

This position is ideal for someone who is a fast learner, enjoys working in a team environment, and is willing to take ownership of multiple areas of the business. The successful candidate will play a key role in accounting, inventory management, purchasing, retail compliance, and day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

Manage daily accounting and bookkeeping activities.
Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and general ledger functions.
Prepare financial reports and assist with month-end closing.
Maintain inventory accuracy and perform inventory reconciliations.
Monitor inventory adjustments, purchasing activity, and product movement.
Coordinate EDI transactions and retailer compliance requirements.
Work with vendors, distributors, and major retail partners.
Assist with forecasting, purchasing, and operational planning.
Support management with reporting, analysis, and process improvements.
Maintain organized records and documentation.
Help develop and improve internal controls and operational procedures.

Qualifications

Accounting, bookkeeping, finance, inventory management, or operations experience.
QuickBooks experience preferred.
Experience with inventory management and reconciliation.
Strong Microsoft Excel and computer skills.
EDI experience, including TrueCommerce, is a plus.
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
