Full Job Description

We are aiTWorks, an employment agency (www.aitworks.com) and we are looking for a candidate who can work as a Japanese Bilingual Senior Accountant at a Japanese accounting firm located in Manhattan, New York.

*This position offers a hybrid work arrangement*

*Salary: $80,000～$120,000（DOE）

*Working hours: Hybrid Work | 8:30 AM–5:30 PM
※In-office work required two days per week, though full remote
work may be considered based on qualifications
※1-hour lunch break
※Overtime may be expected, particularly during the busy season (January to
April) and during month-end close (the first week of each month)

＜Job Responsibilities＞

Main client contact for each engagement
Coordinate and perform bookkeeping, monthly and quarterly closing, attestation services(financial statement review and compilation), tax return preparation, miscellaneous tax filings
Interim Accounting Manager or Controller responsibilities as needed

Other accounting and tax-related administrative services for clients

Work closely with Managers or Senior Managers
Provide consultation services to clients, including assistance in setting up new accounting and tax-related process flows
Respond to inquiries based on intermediate-level understanding of accounting and tax topics

OƯer suggestions and constructive feedback based on common practice

＜Qualifications and Requirements＞

Minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting or 5 years in private accounting
Experience required in bookkeeping (including financial statement close process),
accounting and attestation, or tax (corporate, individual, and miscellaneous)
Public accounting experience is highly valued
Accounting major is a strong plus
CPA or Enrolled Agent certification is a strong plus; candidates holding CPA will have the title Senior Consultant
Intermediate knowledge of accounting, corporate tax, and/or individual tax is required
Strong communication and project management skills (must handle multiple client engagements simultaneously)
Japanese language proficiency is not required, but beneficial
Proficiency with QuickBooks and other accounting software, and familiarity with tax software (e.g., CCH Access) preferred.
Strong Excel skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize workload independently
High attention to detail and strong analytical skill

＜Others＞

VISA support is possible under the firm’s policy.
Travel requirements are minimal, with rare out-of-state trips and occasional local commutes to client sitesdepending on client arrangement.
