Full Job Description

Job Summary

Computer Pros is looking for a dependable, friendly, and technically skilled person to join our team. This is a combined position that will spend approximately half the time assisting customers and half the time performing basic computer repairs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your problem-solving skills and customer service excellence make a real impact every day.

Required Qualifications

Must have clean Background check

Basic computer-repair and troubleshooting experience
Working knowledge of Windows computers and common hardware
Ability to complete routine computer repairs with limited supervision after training
Previous retail sales or customer-service experience
Comfortable helping customers in person and over the phone
Able to explain basic technical information in plain language
Strong attention to detail and accurate note-taking
Dependable, punctual, honest, patient, and organized
Willing to follow established repair and documentation procedures
Ability to protect customer privacy and handle customer equipment carefully
Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation
Ability and willingness to work at both the Bristol and Greeneville locations as scheduled
Ability to lift and carry computers, monitors, printers, and related equipment

Customer-Service Responsibilities

Answer incoming phone calls professionally
Listen carefully and gather accurate information about customer needs
Direct calls and messages to the correct technician or staff member
Check computers and other equipment in for repair
Accurately document reported problems, equipment received, customer information, and other important details
Keep customers updated as directed
Check completed repairs out and collect payments
Schedule appointments and service calls
Learn and help manage the company service calendar
Maintain accurate repair tickets, customer records, and notes
Explain basic repair information, products, and services to customers
Recieve inventory
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front-counter area

Bench-Technician Responsibilities

Diagnose common desktop and laptop computer problems
Install and configure Windows
Install software, updates, drivers, and peripheral devices
Perform computer tune-ups and routine maintenance
Scan for and remove malware using company procedures
Replace common components such as hard drives, SSDs, memory, batteries, power supplies, and cooling fans
Perform basic hardware upgrades
Transfer customer data between computers and storage devices
Set up new computers and user accounts
Configure printers, and other common devices
Document all diagnostics, repairs, parts, and work performed
Assist experienced technicians with more advanced repairs
Recognize when a repair should be escalated to another technician
Maintain an organized bench and properly handle customer equipment
