Full Job Description

We are seeking a Full-Time Pathways Coordinator for the Pathways to Partnership Program (IPPP) to join our team! This position is a 100% full-time Pathways Coordinator position. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position of limited duration. As this position is grant-funded, it is subject to the continued availability of funding and programmatic need.

The salary for this position is $40,000.

Work Responsibilities:

Teach the Pathways to Partnership curriculum to middle school students with disabilities and transitioning high school students in the Valley View School District.

Maintain a working relationship with the Pathways Manager to ensure that the project is implemented according to protocol.

Assist in finalizing and implementing the curriculum.

Engage local employers to develop a pipeline for participating students to have access to internships, apprenticeships, and other Pre-Employment Transition Services (pre-ETS) such as work-based learning experiences.

Link participants with additional supports to maximize independence and success in post-secondary education or Competitive Integrated Employment.

Work with the Pathways Manager to collect and analyze data.

Maintain a working relationship with other community organizations by serving on committees, boards, etc., as assigned to insure the independent living philosophy is represented.

Attend Vocation Rehab trainings and meetings to provide quality services to students and families.

Meet with students and their families on a regular basis.

Represent Disability Resource Center at fairs and expos as assigned.

Maintain required job skills and core professional competencies.

Attend and actively participate in required educational programs and staff meetings.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Associate or bachelor’s degree in education preferred or proven successful work in a related field.
Direct experience working with people with disabilities or personal experience with a disability
Previous experience in social work, counseling, or other related fields
Must believe in and act in accordance with the Independent Living Philosophy
Excellent oral and written communication skills, and organizational skills
Compassionate and caring demeanor
Ability to build rapport with students, family, and school staff.
Strong leadership qualities
Bilingual (Spanish/English) candidate preferred

Unique Job Functions:

Ability to travel within Will County and Valley View School District.

Ability to work weekends/evenings as required.

Direct experience working with persons with disabilities or personal experience with a disability. Persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply. Acceptance of the independent living movement/philosophy is required.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $40,000 ($ 21.00 per hour)

Schedule:

Monday to Friday, Hours: 9-5, may vary when teaching classes in Valley View School District.
