Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating project specifications, preparing accurate cost estimates, and ensuring that projects are completed within budget. This role requires strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of construction processes, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

MUST HAVE PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTOR EXPERIENCE.

Responsibilities

Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam , SAGE to create detailed estimates.
Collaborate with project managers to develop project budgets and timelines.
Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best pricing.
Monitor costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budget constraints.
Prepare reports detailing estimated costs versus actual costs for project evaluation.
Maintain relationships with contractors, suppliers, and clients to facilitate communication and resolve any issues.

Skills

Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in construction estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and techniques.
Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable contract terms.
Ability to perform cost control measures effectively throughout the project lifecycle.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate price assessments.
Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and stakeholders on construction sites.
Understanding of contract law as it pertains to construction projects.
EXPERIENCE with PUBLIC and PRIVATE sector projects
formulate bid for submission
