Full Job Description

Primary Responsibilities: Kitchen helpers are responsible for the preparation of food items in the kitchen and should prepare food with emphasis on high quality, efficiency and consistency, while adhering to food safety policies. Employees are expected to be team players working well with fellow employees and management. Must be neat and maintain a professional appearance and good personal hygiene must be adhered to at all time.

Essential Duties:

· Ensures and prepares menu items according to Rainbow Drive-In recipes and food preparation procedures.

· Preps and marinates all menu items according to Rainbow Drive-In standards

· Produce consistent, quality food in an efficient manner

· Properly rotates food inventory

· Ensures portion control

· Keeps kitchen and back of the house practices efficient and safe

· Washes hands and wears gloves before touching ready-to-eat food items

· Keeps kitchen clean at all times

· Keeps food waste to a minimum

· Works closely with manager in ordering all necessary kitchen items in order to not run out of product

· Monitors all temperatures of food items and ensures that these temperatures are in compliance with local health department

· Ensures all food is fresh and quality

· Fully understands every aspect of preparing and cooking all menu items according to Rainbow Drive-In standards

· Assist in preparation of food products by chopping vegetables, making salads, properly weighing and measuring ingredients and ensuring all food products are stored properly.

· Utilize a wide range of kitchen tools.

· Cook all prepared foods in a safe and timely manner.

· Cook items ordered while working on different orders simultaneously.

· Check all customer orders for completion and quality before sending completed orders through pick up window.

· Perform maintenance tasks such a washing dishes by hand, emptying trash and testing the temperature of food and specified intervals.

· Provide excellent customer service while answering telephones or speaking to customers. Must be able to take phone orders, direct calls and answer basic restaurant inquiries.

· Must be able to keep up with a fast pace environment.

· Completes daily cleaning tasks and restocks supplies as needed.

· Maintains proper sanitation standards.

· Projects a professional impression and maintains a positive, professional image with respect to the company.

· Performs all duties assigned by Manager

· Adheres to all Company policies and procedures.

· Follows Department of Health food safety guidelines.

· Follows the company’s safety guidelines.
