Full Job Description

Retina Associates is one of the most well-established and advanced practices devoted to diagnosing and treating diseases of the retina, macula, and vitreous in the Greater Kansas City area and surrounding communities. Our mission is to help every patient preserve or restore their sight through our advanced treatment options.

Each physician at Retina Associates is supported by their own clinical team to ensure the highest level of patient care. We are seeking a Clinical Manager dedicated to supporting a single physician within our practice. This position is responsible for managing daily clinical operations and supervising assigned personnel in a sub-specialty ophthalmology practice. This position works directly with patients and travels with the physician to some of our different clinic locations throughout Kansas and Missouri. The base location for this position is in Lenexa, KS.

Management Duties:

Supervise and train clinical staff assigned to the physician.
Demonstrate ability to implement problem solving techniques.
Daily awareness of practice staffing assignments and support appropriate staffing levels.
Complete annual employee evaluations for assigned clinical staff.
Review and approve timecards for assigned clinical staff.
Exhibit timely, satisfactory completion of all job assignments with minimal assistance.
Demonstrate ability to identify and resolve interpersonal conflicts when dealing with members of the health care team and personnel.
Other duties as assigned.

Clinical Duties:

Manage the daily workflow of the physician’s clinic and patient care team.
Maintain physician schedule and determine appropriate patient scheduling template with available resources, supplies, and physical locations.
Evaluate, assess and prepare patients for examination.
Accompany doctor in examining patient and assist and document the examination.
Review examinations, disease process, test results, and therapeutic procedure to patient and family, assessing their understanding to take appropriate action.
Document medications administered and any reactions.
Prepare patient for surgical encounter, assuring patient has the necessary information and/or consent form; and coordinate admission and pre-admission testing.
Assist in completion of all pertinent practice, insurance, hospital, and patient paperwork.
Coordinate supply and drug inventory for all appropriate locations.
Knowledge and practice of HIPAA, OSHA, and EMR compliance guidelines in healthcare.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Minimum 1-year of leadership and management experience.
Must have a valid driver’s license and availability to travel to our multiple clinic locations.
Must be able to travel between our different clinic locations in KS and MO.
Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Work is of a medium demand: walking and standing most of the time on duty; optional lifting of patients or patient assistance; high degree of hearing accuracy required; high degree of visual acuity.
