($1500 Hiring Bonus! - $750 paid at 90 days, $750 paid at 6 months)

To be a successful Therapeutic Foster Care Worker you must become able to do the following always:
1. Ensure compliance to regulatory board requirements including maintenance of field training. Knowledge of DCF licensing standards for both initial licensing and on-going licensure for foster parents.
2. Ensure a trauma responsive focus on creating a safe and supportive environment for staff and those served through knowledge, sensitivity, respect, and a focus on resilience and recovery.
3. Provide support and supervision of TFFH families to achieve safety, well-being, and permanency for children in their care.
a. Responsible for family satisfaction within the Behavior Intervention (BI) program. Ensure that families served are given proper support, advocacy, resources, and communication in a timely manner and implementing trauma responsive care practices.
b. Complete required assessments with families in a timely manner, scoring correctly,
tracking client progress, and utilizing assessments to adapt services to the needs of the client and family.
c. Attend court appointments and other professional family-based meetings as required.
d. Work with BI Coordinator/leadership team in matching BIs to homes, resolving issues in a timely manner, and participating and engaging in team meetings.
e. Collaborate and work with BI Coordinator/leadership team in setting up Meet & Greets, Shadow Shifts, Observation Shifts with families
f. Inform Supervisor/leadership team of family updates, needs, and changes at all times a timely manner.
g. Review Incident Reports with Supervisor/leadership team and follow-up with family within 24 hours, if needed
h. Complete & facilitate Referral Triage, Intake, and Meet & Greets for each family within the required time frames.
i. Complete approval and renewal process for services in a timely and professional manner.
j. Create, review, and update individualized Behavioral Plan for each client/family, including professional team as applicable, obtaining approval and signatures when revised in a timely manner.
k. Keep families and professional team members updated and informed when placed on waitlist and during the process of intake, approval, and BI hiring process.
l. Complete all quarterly meetings with each family and if applicable, BI, within the required time frame.
m. Review BI Progress Reports in a timely manner
4. Model and encourage relationship building with biological parents and extended family members of the children in care.
5. Act as an ambassador with foster parents and natural contacts about the need for additional foster parents in KS, with the goal of generating increased TFFH/traditional foster homes to meet the needs of that community. Growth will be established through the involvement of existing foster parents as well as faith based and civic organizations to increase foster home recruitment.
6. Exercise discretion and judgement in the best interest of children served. Provide knowledge, skills, and tools to TFFH families to successfully function in accordance with expectations and procedures required to provide therapeutic care.
7. Demonstrate the willingness to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job within the competencies established for the position.
8. Participate in special projects in collaboration with state and community partners on an as needed basis.
9. Maintain timely documentation in agency electronic health record (uploading/completing) for both the children and foster/kinship parents according to Foster Care Department expectations. Complete monthly reporting and required assessments including the development, evaluation, and recommendations of individualized plans for all children assigned to caseload.
10. Ensure procedures are in place to track and report program outcomes and quality assurance.
11. Complete Case Closure and Aftercare Follow-up meetings and documentation in the required time frame.
12. Ensure all resource provider files are in compliance with requirements
13. Train and license TFFH families through partnership with the pre-service trainer.
14. Follow Company Policy and Procedure and operate according to the Company’s Program Practice Guidelines.

How you will spend your time in this position:

To qualify for this position, you need to have:
1. Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in social work or licensable degree.
2. Licensed with Kansas Behavioral Science Regulatory Board.
3. Prefer 2 years’ experience in child welfare.
4. Previous experience working with at-risk populations.
5. Ability to travel, driving agency or personal vehicle including at night. Ability to do occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. Able to walk up-stairs. Ability to work flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends. Employee is subject to outside environmental conditions occasionally, inside conditions frequently, with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change.
