Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong understanding of food preparation techniques. As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, This position requires attention to detail, adherence to food safety standards, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Employee will assist with cleaning duties during down time. This is a shared position for housekeeping, you will cook on Saturday and Sunday, then do housekeeping on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Responsibilities

Saturday thru Wednesday 8am to 5pm
Prepare ingredients for cooking by washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring food items.
Assist in the cooking process by following recipes and instructions from the head chef or kitchen manager.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage of ingredients.
Ensure all food safety and sanitation guidelines are followed during food preparation and handling.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
Assist with catering events as needed, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other food preparation tools.
Help with cleaning duties during down time.

Skills

Proven experience in the food industry or similar role is preferred.
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary skills.
Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices for food handling.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining individual responsibilities.
Excellent knife skills and proficiency in using various kitchen equipment.
Experience in catering or restaurant settings is a plus.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
A positive attitude and willingness to learn new techniques in meal preparation.
