Full Job Description

Galaxy Insurance Group is a growing independent insurance brokerage with an established presence in Wichita and Oklahoma City. We're now making a significant investment in expanding our presence throughout the Kansas City market.

We're looking for an experienced insurance professional who wants more than another producer position.

We want someone who can produce business, build relationships, and help us grow Galaxy in the Kansas City market.

The Opportunity:

This position is designed for an experienced insurance producer who understands how to build a book of business and doesn't need to be taught the fundamentals of insurance sales.

Your primary focus will be commercial property & casualty production, but you'll have the ability to develop other lines of business that fit Galaxy and your client relationships.

We're looking for someone who can come in with a plan, develop their own pipeline, build relationships throughout Kansas City, and become an important part of Galaxy's long-term growth in the market.

For the right person, this role has the potential to grow into a Kansas City market leadership position as the operation expands.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Generate and close new commercial insurance opportunities
Build and manage your own sales pipeline
Prospect businesses and identify upcoming insurance renewal opportunities
Develop relationships with business owners and key decision-makers
Build referral partnerships with lenders, CPAs, attorneys, real estate professionals, property managers and other centers of influence
Network throughout the Kansas City business community
Develop relationships within targeted commercial industries
Work with Galaxy's carrier partners to identify appropriate coverage and placement solutions
Maintain organized prospect, pipeline and renewal-date information
Identify opportunities for Galaxy to develop additional carrier relationships and market access
Collaborate with Galaxy leadership on growing the Kansas City operation
Consistently meet established monthly and annual new-business production expectations

Who We're Looking For

This is not an entry-level insurance sales position.

We're looking for someone with meaningful industry experience who can operate independently and contribute from the beginning.

Our ideal candidate has:

Significant commercial P&C insurance experience
A proven history of producing new business
Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products and coverage
Experience prospecting and building a book of business
Existing knowledge of the Kansas City business community
Strong relationship-building and networking skills
Experience working with carrier underwriters and insurance markets
The ability to create and execute a sales strategy independently
An entrepreneurial mindset
Strong organization and follow-through
An active Property & Casualty insurance license

Existing relationships and a professional network within the Kansas City market are highly valued.

What Success Looks Like

We aren't looking for someone who simply waits for leads.

A successful Galaxy producer actively creates opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, centers of influence and relationships within the business community.

We provide the agency infrastructure, carrier relationships, technology, support and resources necessary to succeed.

We expect an experienced producer to bring the industry knowledge, relationships, initiative and sales ability necessary to build a significant book of business.

Compensation:

Galaxy offers a competitive base salary plus uncapped new-business commission.

Our compensation model rewards production, with higher monthly production unlocking higher commission percentages.

Top producers have the opportunity to earn significant additional compensation through new-business production.

As the producer's book and responsibilities grow, there are opportunities for:

Increased base compensation
Greater leadership responsibility
Recruiting and mentoring opportunities
Participation in the continued development of the Kansas City market
