About - MedEquip Shop

The MedEquip Shop is Houston's trusted medical supply and equipment company, serving patients, caregivers, and families through a retail storefront in the memorial area. and a rental division that supports hospice agencies and home care. All business is conducted on a cash basis — no insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid billing. We sell and rent hospital beds, CPAP/BiPAP machines, oxygen concentrators, wheelchairs, scooters, lift chairs, and related supplies, backed by expert in-store guidance.

The Role

We're hiring a Digital Marketing Specialist to own organic growth across our website, search presence, and social channels. This is a hands-on role: you'll write content, manage our Shopify site, run SEO/AEO strategy, post on social media, and drive email marketing — with the goal of growing qualified organic traffic and converting it into customers and rental inquiries, without relying on paid ads.

Key ResponsibilitiesContent & SEO/AEO

Write and publish blog posts, buying guides, and product/category copy that answers real customer questions (CPAP, oxygen, mobility, hospital beds, incontinence, wound care, etc.).
Run on-page and technical SEO: keyword research, meta titles/descriptions, internal linking, site speed and Core Web Vitals, structured data/schema.
Apply Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) practices — structuring content so it gets cited by AI search tools (ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity), including clear Q&A formatting, schema markup, and authoritative sourcing.
Grow rankings, organic traffic, and AI-search visibility; report on what's working and adjust.

Website (Shopify)

Maintain and update product pages, collections, landing pages, and blog on our Shopify store.
Optimize product descriptions and category pages for both search and conversion.
Coordinate basic site changes — banners, seasonal promotions, new collections — working with our content manager and photographer.

Social Media

Plan and publish a regular posting cadence (Facebook, Instagram, and other relevant platforms).
Repurpose blog and product content into social-ready posts, using assets from our in-house photographer.
Engage with comments/messages and monitor brand mentions.

Email Marketing

Build and manage email campaigns and automated flows (welcome series, abandoned cart, rental reminders, subscription/reorder nudges for CPAP supplies and incontinence products).
Segment our list (retail customers vs. hospice/agency partners) and personalize messaging accordingly.
Track open rates, click-through, and revenue attribution; test and improve over time.

What We're Looking For

2+ years in digital marketing with hands-on SEO, content writing, and social media experience.
Working knowledge of Shopify (product/collection management, basic theme edits, blog publishing).
Familiarity with SEO tools (Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, and one of SEMrush/Ahrefs) and email platforms (Klaviyo or similar).
Strong, clear writing — comfortable turning technical/medical-equipment topics into plain-language, helpful content.
Curiosity about AEO/AI search and a willingness to keep pace with how people find information as search evolves.
Organized and self-directed; comfortable owning a content calendar and hitting deadlines.
Bonus: experience marketing in healthcare, home medical equipment, or another regulated/considered-purchase category.

Success Looks Like

Steady month-over-month growth in organic (non-paid) website traffic and search rankings for priority product/service terms.
Growing visibility in AI-generated answers (ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity) for relevant customer questions.
An active, consistent social presence and a healthy, growing email list with strong engagement.
Measurable contribution to online leads, rental inquiries, and sales from organic channels.

Pay: $52,000.00 - $67,000.00 per year
