Full Job Description

This is an in-office role designed to foster collaboration, team engagement, and exceptional client service. Candidates should be available to work on-site in our Katy office during business hours.

With decades of corporate and small business experience, we are committed to providing high-quality tax, bookkeeping, and financial services to individuals and businesses. We are expanding and looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Tax Preparer / Branch Manager to lead our Katy branch.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Tax Preparer / Branch Manager to oversee day-to-day branch operations, manage client relationships, and lead the preparation and review of individual and business tax returns. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with leadership skills and a deep understanding of bookkeeping, tax law and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Tax Preparation & Review

Prepare and review complex individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns.
Ensure all tax filings comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
Conduct tax planning and provide strategic advice to clients.
Stay current on tax law changes and industry best practices.

Branch Management

Oversee daily operations of the branch, ensuring high levels of efficiency and client satisfaction.
Lead and mentor junior staff, providing training, support, and quality control.
Manage client onboarding, retention, and relationship management.
Drive branch growth through community engagement and client outreach.

Administrative & Compliance

Monitor deadlines and workflow to ensure timely and accurate delivery of services.
Implement and uphold firm policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
Handle client escalations and resolve issues professionally.
Report key performance metrics to upper management.

Qualifications:

Accounting Degree
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in tax preparation (individual and business returns).
EA or CPA preferred (or actively pursuing).
3+ years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
Strong knowledge of ProConnect tax software.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Customer-first mindset with a professional and approachable demeanor.
