Title: Butcher

FLSA Status: Hourly (Non-Exempt)

Department: Production

Work Location: On-site (Princeton, KY)

Reports to: Production Supervisor

Compensation

Pay Range: $16-20/hour

Position Summary

The Butcher is responsible for cutting, trimming, deboning, and preparing meat products according to company standards, quality specifications, and food safety regulations. This role ensures efficient production while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and product quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

-Cut, trim, bone, and portion meats (beef, pork, etc.) to specification-Operate knives, saws, grinders, and other meat processing equipment safely-Follow all USDA, HACCP, and food safety guidelines-Inspect meat products for quality, freshness, and defects-Weigh, package, and label products accurately-Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment-Monitor inventory levels and minimize waste-Work efficiently to meet daily production targets-Assist with receiving and storing meat deliveries-Follow all workplace safety procedures and wear required PPE

Qualifications

-Previous butchery or meat processing experience preferred-Knowledge of meat cuts and processing techniques-Ability to use hand tools and machinery safely-Strong attention to detail and quality-Ability to work in a cold environment-Good teamwork and communication skills-High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Physical Requirements

-Ability to stand for long periods-Lift up to 50 lbs regularly-Perform repetitive motions-Comfortable working in cold and wet conditions

Work Environment

-Cold storage and production facility-Exposure to sharp tools and heavy equipment-Fast-paced, production-driven environment
