Full Job Description

LEGAL ASSISTANT WANTED

R. Wayne Culbertson, P.C., Attorneys at Law is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join our law office in Kingsport, Tennessee.

Position Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of legal office experience required
Strong knowledge of legal terminology and office procedures
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Professional demeanor and ability to communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, courts, and opposing counsel
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and general office technology
Ability to prepare correspondence, pleadings, discovery, notices, and other legal documents
Experience with e-filing and electronic document management preferred
Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team
Knowledge of Tennessee court procedures and experience in a law office preferred

Responsibilities

The Legal Assistant will provide support to attorneys in a busy law practice, including:

Preparing and formatting legal pleadings, correspondence, and other documents
Maintaining and organizing client files
Communicating with clients, courts, attorneys, and other parties
Scheduling hearings, depositions, meetings, and other appointments
Assisting with discovery and case preparation
Filing documents with state and federal courts
Monitoring deadlines and maintaining attorney calendars
Assisting attorneys with general case management and administrative duties

We are looking for a dependable, organized, detail-oriented professional who takes pride in producing accurate work and providing excellent service to our clients.
