PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Provides technical support to users including, but not limited to, technical advice on equipment setup and operation, general troubleshooting, and software installation. Installs, configures, repairs, and analyzes computer-associated equipment. Programs routine settings on systems including servers, desktops, printers, and software. Uses discretion and judgment to organize and perform requested services promptly. Frequently requires analysis of facts and circumstances to solve problems within the limits of accepted practices. Provide technical support in the use of hardware and software throughout the district.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
Network+ Certification preferred

Special Knowledge/Experience:
- Knowledge and experience with PC/Server maintenance and setup
- Knowledge and experience with PC/Server peripheral setup and maintenance
- Knowledge and experience with Windows PC/Server operating systems
- Knowledge and experience with backup equipment and software utilities
- Knowledge and experience with Windows/Linux operating systems/scripting commands
- Knowledge and experience with PowerSchool, ClassLink, and Active Directory applications
- Knowledge of district technologies available for use in instructional setting
Ability to analyze and resolve computer hardware, peripheral, and software problems
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

One to two years of technical support experience with preferred experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing servers, computers, and peripherals
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Technical Support
- Assists with local area networks, file server configuration, and other related peripherals
- Provide technical assistance to Administration and Campus Office Staff for use of software
- Install and upgrade servers, computers and peripherals as needed
- Act as liaison with district technology personnel
- Perform upgrades to software as needed
- Install and configure legacy software as needed
Supports developing SIS Reports and PowerSchool
Software Maintenance
- Diagnose and repair software installation, configuration, and accessibility.
- Service district software according to established preventive maintenance schedule
- Maintain accurate updated records of preventive maintenance
- Maintain accurate records of time and materials required to perform updates, repairs and service
Maintain Active Directory
Database Administration
- Manage tables, stored procedures, views, functions, and other database objects.
- Collect, organize, and analyze information related to the development of database applications for specific user needs.
- Evaluate software and hardware suitability and applicability within district’s data
- Provide technical assistance to staff database personnel.
- Perform data downloads from mainframe and other external sources to the data warehouse.
- Prepare work plans and reports
- Prepare systems analysis for district users and recommend hardware and software programs for database access, control, and input.
- Develop and recommend standards in data definitions and database security.
Communicate date and field clarifications with system staff.
Policy, Reports and Law
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal policies and procedures for software additions or revisions.
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.
Compile, maintain and retain computerized reports, records, and other required documents.
Inventory
- Maintain accurate inventory of software throughout the district
Identify, request, and control the inventory of diagnostic and repair software
Cybersecurity Safety
- Operate software according to prescribed safety procedures
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including installing, configuring, and repairing district software and securing district data.
- Correct and report any conditions that are not correctable to the supervisor immediately.
Monitor data integrity for potential risk.
Other
- Compile, maintain, and file all computerized reports, records, and other documents required
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy
Comply with all district and campus routines and regulations
Equipment Used:
Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment
Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment: Occasional districtwide travel
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
