Full Job Description

IV Technician (Infusion) – Medical Assistant / Phlebotomy (Experienced)

Join Our Innovative Team!

Are you an experienced clinical professional with strong venipuncture skills looking to grow in an infusion setting? We are seeking a skilled IV Technician with Medical Assistant or phlebotomy experience to join our dedicated rheumatology infusion team. In this role, you will assist with IV access, laboratory draws, and patient preparation for infusion therapy for patients receiving treatment for arthritis, autoimmune diseases, and osteoporosis.

This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable performing venipuncture and IV starts, and enjoys working closely with providers and nurses to deliver safe and efficient infusion care.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform venipuncture for laboratory testing and pre-infusion lab monitoring.
Perform or assist with IV insertion and IV access for infusion therapy in accordance with clinic protocols and training.
Prepare, label, and process laboratory specimens according to clinic and laboratory guidelines.
Assist infusion nurses and providers with patient preparation prior to infusion therapy.
Obtain and document vital signs and patient information in the EMR prior to treatment.
Prepare infusion rooms by ensuring supplies, medications, and equipment are properly stocked and organized.
Monitor patients during infusion visits and promptly notify the clinical team of any concerns.
Maintain accurate documentation and assist with compliance related to safety, infection control, and clinical procedures.
Support patient flow to ensure smooth and efficient infusion clinic operations.
Assist with inventory management for infusion and phlebotomy supplies.

Qualifications:

Strong venipuncture skills and experience performing blood draws in a clinical setting.
IV insertion experience strongly preferred.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced infusion environment.
Excellent patient care and interpersonal skills to help patients feel comfortable during procedures.
Professional demeanor with commitment to confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Minimum 2 years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant, Phlebotomist, or similar clinical role.
Medical Assistant certification (CMA / MA-C) or phlebotomy certification preferred but not required.
Experience with IV starts, infusion clinics, or specialty practices preferred.
EMR proficiency required (ECW strongly preferred).
Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory procedures.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, G-Suite, and Windows platforms.

Schedule:

Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm

Compensation & Benefits:

Starting pay: $29.00/hour
