Full Job Description

Job Overview

Gold Dust & Walker Farms are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Shop & Inventory Manager. This position is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the mechanic shop, including shop operations, mechanics, parts inventory, supplies, and work orders to ensure an efficient and well-organized operation.

The Shop & Inventory Manager will utilize shop management software to organize workflows, track repairs and maintenance, manage inventory, and support the daily operations of the mechanic department.

Duties and Responsibilities

Perform administrative duties for the shop and mechanic department as assigned
Supervise and support all shop mechanics
Work collaboratively with team members to develop, plan, and maintain an efficient shop operation
Track and manage all shop tasks and work orders through shop management software
Utilize company communication systems to effectively coordinate with mechanics and staff
Oversee and manage inventory, including maintaining accurate records and tracking of parts and supplies
Manage purchasing for shop parts, supplies, and equipment repairs, including assigning and tracking purchase order (PO) numbers
Review and manage receipts, documentation, and paperwork submitted by mechanics and farm employees
Create spreadsheets, reports, graphs, and other materials as assigned
Track and enter employee time, attendance, and scheduling in time-tracking software
Plan, implement, and provide training related to shop safety procedures
Generate reports on inventory levels, supplies, and stock on hand
Generate reports on parts usage, equipment repairs, and work orders
Ensure all equipment is in proper working order prior to use
Coordinate and complete required annual equipment inspections

Skills and Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of management or supervisory experience
Strong computer proficiency
Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Mechanical knowledge or experience preferred
Experience with inventory management and control, including demand planning, category management, and stock rotation strategies
Familiarity with procurement processes and purchasing procedures
Experience operating or overseeing materials handling equipment (e.g., forklifts) preferred
Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures
Experience working with third-party logistics (3PL) providers preferred

Working Environment

This position requires working in a variety of environments including indoor shop settings and outdoor farm locations. The role may involve exposure to varying temperatures, weather conditions, noise, dust, and typical shop or agricultural work environments.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
