The Role

Pathway2Careers (P2C) is looking for a motivated, organized, and relationship-driven Business Development Representative to join our growing sales team in Maryville, TN. This role will play a critical part in supporting our Regional Sales Managers by prospecting, qualifying leads, and booking meetings with school districts and education leaders across assigned regions.

As a BDR at P2C, you will be on the front lines of our growth, serving as an extension of the regional sales team. You will focus on generating interest and setting qualified meetings through outbound prospecting, inbound follow-up, and strong collaboration with Sales and Marketing. While cold outreach is part of the role, this position also has a strong field component, including support for regional conferences, events, and convenings.

You will act as a trusted first point of contact for prospective districts, introducing P2C’s career exploration, labor market, and career-connected learning solutions and ensuring a smooth handoff to the Regional Sales Managers.

This role is designed as a development opportunity with clear exposure to the full sales process. High performers will gain experience in discovery, demos, pipeline management, and may progress into full-cycle sales roles over time.

This position will be in-person for 6 months, then can turn into hybrid.

Key Responsibilities

Support 2-3 Regional Sales Managers by prospecting target accounts and booking qualified meetings
Research and identify target school districts, state agencies, and education stakeholders within assigned regions
Generate and qualify leads through outbound calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach, and inbound follow-up
Represent Pathway2Careers at regional conferences, trade shows, and education events to generate new leads and strengthen relationships
Serve as a professional, client-facing ambassador for P2C, confidently communicating our value proposition to educators and administrators
Collaborate closely with Regional Sales Managers to align on target accounts, messaging, and outreach strategies
Maintain accurate and timely records of all outreach, conversations, and meetings in HubSpot
Support pre- and post-event outreach and follow-up efforts to maximize ROI from conferences and convenings
Stay informed on K–12 education trends, workforce readiness initiatives, and competitor offerings
Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly goals for meetings booked, qualified leads, and pipeline contribution
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Who You Are

Has a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or something similar
One to five years of experience in a BDR, SDR, or sales support role
Comfortable making outbound calls and engaging prospective customers via email and phone
Comfortable traveling (via car, airplane, etc), short and long distances within the U.S.
Highly organized with strong time management and follow-up skills
Confident communicator who can engage educators, administrators, and district leaders
Collaborative team player who enjoys supporting others and contributing to shared goals
Curious, coachable, and motivated to grow in sales and business development
Interested in education, workforce readiness, and helping students connect learning to careers

Bonus Points

Experience supporting field sales teams or multiple Account Executives or Regional Managers
Familiarity with HubSpot or similar CRM systems
Experience attending or supporting education conferences, trade shows, or events
Prior exposure to K–12 education, EdTech, or mission-driven organizations

Physical Requirements:
