Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Breast Reconstruction Surgery Coordinator to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as a key liaison between patients, surgeons, and support staff, ensuring seamless coordination of breast reconstruction procedures. Your expertise in medical administrative support, EMR systems, and patient service will help facilitate efficient care delivery, improve patient experiences, and uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and compliance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to transformative patient journeys while working in a fast-paced, compassionate environment.

Responsibilities

Coordinate all aspects of breast reconstruction surgeries, including scheduling appointments, pre-operative preparations, and post-operative follow-up care.
Manage patient documentation review to ensure accuracy and completeness of medical records, care plans, and insurance information.
Utilize EMR systems such as Modmed/EMA to document patient interactions, update records, and track treatment progress.
Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and other third-party payers; facilitate insurance verification processes.
Maintain detailed knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding standards, and medical billing procedures related to breast reconstruction procedures.
Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries via multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette and timely responses.
Support clinic operations by managing medical records filing, appointment scheduling, and front desk responsibilities with accuracy and efficiency.
Collaborate with surgical teams to prepare care plans and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and data security.
Assist with billing processes related to medical collection efforts while maintaining thorough documentation review for billing accuracy.
Ensure all administrative tasks are completed with attention to detail using Microsoft Office tools and health information management software.

Experience

Prior clinic or medical office experience with a focus on surgical and breast reconstructive procedures is required.
Demonstrated proficiency in EMR systems such Modmed or similar platforms.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and Medicare guidelines related to reconstructive surgery billing.
Experience in medical billing, insurance verification, and healthcare documentation review is essential.
Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations.
Excellent organizational skills with experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proven customer service skills with a professional demeanor at the front desk or during patient interactions.
