Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and have experience with QuickBooks Desktop edition. This role is crucial in managing the company’s financial transactions, ensuring timely collection of receivables, and maintaining accurate financial records. The Accounts Receivable Specialist will work collaboratively with other departments to support our financial operations.

Duties

Manage accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, collections, and account reconciliation.
Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks Desktop to maintain accurate financial records.
Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently, including journal entries and double-entry bookkeeping.
Analyze accounts receivable aging reports to identify overdue accounts and initiate collection efforts.
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries regarding billing and payment issues.
Collaborate with the finance team to prepare financial reports and assist in month-end closing activities.
Conduct credit analysis for new customers and assess credit risk for existing clients.
Support the accounts payable team as needed to ensure smooth financial operations.

Requirements

Proven experience in accounts receivable or related accounting roles, preferably in public or corporate accounting environments.
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks.
Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, account analysis, account reconciliation, and technical accounting skills.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data effectively.
Strong negotiation skills for handling collections while maintaining positive customer relationships.
Familiarity with governmental accounting practices is a plus.
Exceptional attention to detail with strong math skills for accurate data entry and bookkeeping tasks.
Effective communication skills including phone etiquette for professional interactions with clients as well as coworkers.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
