Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cold Heading Operator with strong blueprint reading skills and proficiency in precision measurement tools such as calipers. In this role, you will be responsible for operating cold heading machines to produce high-quality metal fasteners and components, interpreting technical drawings accurately, and ensuring measurements meet strict quality standards. Your mechanical knowledge, safety awareness, and ability to work efficiently in a manufacturing environment will drive your success. Duties

Operate cold heading machines to produce metal fasteners according to technical specifications and blueprints
Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics with precision
Set up and adjust machinery including press brakes, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, and forming machines for optimal operation
Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to verify part dimensions during production
Perform quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process to ensure parts meet dimensional tolerances and safety standards
Maintain a clean, safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols related to machine operation, material handling (including sheet metal), and tool usage
Assist with tooling setup, machine calibration, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and maximize productivity

Qualifications

Proven experience operating cold heading machines or similar metal fabrication equipment in a manufacturing setting
Strong blueprint reading skills with the ability to interpret mechanical drawings accurately
Proficiency in using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement instruments for quality control
Mechanical knowledge of forming machines, CNC equipment (laser cutting, plasma cutting, CNC programming), welding, and machining tools
Familiarity with shop math and basic math skills necessary for measurement calculations and process adjustments
Knowledge of safety standards in production environments including proper use of hand tools, measuring instruments, cranes, and other machinery
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining attention to detail
