Full Job Description

General Purpose:

The incumbent will be responsible for managing all aspects of a high-volume 3PL warehouse to ensure consistent and cost efficient operations, customer satisfaction and profitability.

Education and/or Training:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management or a related field or equivalent of education and experience
Minimum of 10 years warehouse operations experience
Minimum of 5 years management experience in the 3PL space

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
Lead and motivate warehouse staff
Develops business plan and goals for department; presents to senior management for approval
Prepares and analyzes management reports, expense reports and forecasts for department.
Work with customers to ensure requirements and expectations are met
Lead periodic process reviews for each customer
Manage record keeping for customers and ensure that they are up to date and in order
Ensures freight is moved safely and timely
Resolves critical or escalated issues affecting the customer or staff
Conducts annual performance reviews for all staff; addresses employee performance problems

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Logistics/Supply Chain Management
Lean Management Methodologies and implementation
Freight Management
Warehouse Layout Optimization
Exceptional knowledge of multi-client warehouse functions
Ability to lead the team to reach operation objectives utilizing effective production planning, budgeting and resources management
E-commerce and dropship fulfillment
Facilities and team management
Inventory Management
Computer literate and proficient in MS Office and WMS
Experience in working with a temporary labor pool

Additional Skills:

Proficiency in transportation management and logistics operations
Experience in order fulfillment and supply chain management
Knowledge of warehouse operations, including forklift operation and inventory control
Strong leadership skills with previous experience as a warehouse supervisor or manager
Familiarity with 3PL (third-party logistics) providers and distribution center management
Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to optimize supply chain processes
