Department Summary:
The Information Technology (IT) department provides user support, systems support, application administration, data analytics, automation solutions, and infrastructure services that enable Radian Research to operate efficiently and effectively. IT supports business productivity, ensures reliable access to critical systems, and drives continuous improvement in alignment with RADIAN’s customer-centric, employee owner culture.
Position Summary:
The Business Automation & Systems Support Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining internal tools, workflows, automations, and analytical solutions that reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency across the organization. This role works closely with teams in Customer Value Added Services, Solutions, Quality, Production, and Finance to understand their business processes and implement practical solutions using AI tools, scripting, and low-code/no-code platforms.
A key focus of this position is working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Power BI, and related data sources to support financial, production, and operational analytics. The specialist also supports integration needs with Salesforce, helping improve the flow of information between sales and support operations and other business systems.
Additional responsibilities include leveraging low-code/no-code platforms, AI-assisted development tools, and scripting to streamline business workflows. Secondary responsibilities include providing user support as part of the IT team. The position is based in Lafayette, Indiana and works with teams in Pearl (MS), Knoxville (TN), and remote locations.
Responsibilities:
- Work with department leaders and team members to identify opportunities for workflow improvement and operational automation.
- Build and maintain internal tools and automated processes using Power Automate, Power Apps, AI-assisted tools, and scripting.
- Create and update Power BI dashboards for departmental and organizational KPIs.
- Integrate data from systems such as Business Central, Microsoft 365, Salesforce, Jira, and RingCentral.
- Assist teams in replacing manual tasks with digital, automated, or streamlined solutions.
- Document workflows, automations, and internal tool configurations.
- Provide secondary IT support for users and help resolve system-related issues when required.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with Radian’s culture and business goals.
- Collaborate with team members across multiple sites and remote environments.
Education:
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in an IT support, business systems, or automation-focused role.
- Experience using low-code/no-code platforms (e.g., Power Automate, Power Apps) and scripting for task automation.
- Hands-on experience building dashboards, data models, and reports using Power BI.
- Experience integrating or supporting systems such as Business Central and Salesforce strongly preferred
- Experience working with end-users to gather requirements and deliver practical solutions.
Knowledge of:
- Microsoft 365 ecosystem, Power Platform, and data connectivity.
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, including data structures, workflow concepts, and reporting integration.
- Power BI, including data modeling, visualization, KPI creation, and Business Central connectivity.
- Salesforce platform concepts, including data objects, API connectivity, and integration strategies.
- AI tools for automation and productivity.
Skilled at:
- Creating Business Central-driven dashboards and reporting solutions using Power BI.
- Building simple to moderately complex automated workflows.
- Creating internal tools that streamline manual or repetitive tasks.
- Troubleshooting user issues and system behaviors.
- Communicating effectively with non-technical staff.
- Adapting to new software systems and learning quickly.
- Leveraging AI tools for research, script development, system integration, and analytics.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Business Central.
- Experience with Salesforce, Jira, or RingCentral especially automations, API usage, or Power Platform connectors
- Experience supporting manufacturing, quality, sales, or customer service business processes.
- API (Application Programming Interfaces) knowledge or integration skills (basic level acceptable).
- Knowledge of virtual machines, databases, and sandbox environments used for testing, development, and isolated system experimentation.
