Full Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Director of Compliance & Privacy to lead our organization-wide compliance, privacy, and health information management efforts. This leadership role is ideal for someone who brings strong healthcare regulatory expertise, sound judgment, and a collaborative approach to protecting our clients, staff, and organization.

What You'll Do

Lead and continuously strengthen Valley Oaks Health’s compliance program, including audits, risk assessments, regulatory reviews, and corrective action planning.
Serve as the organization’s Privacy Officer, overseeing HIPAA, HITECH, state privacy requirements, and the investigation and response to privacy incidents or breaches.
Provide leadership and oversight to the Health Information Management (HIM) department, supporting accurate, secure, and efficient management of health information.
Develop, maintain, and implement policies and procedures related to compliance, privacy, data security, and health information management.
Lead compliance and privacy investigations, regulatory reporting, and organizational monitoring while keeping executive leadership informed of significant risks and developments.
Develop and deliver compliance and privacy education that helps employees understand their responsibilities and promotes a strong culture of accountability and integrity.

What You'll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, law, health information management, or a related field required (Master’s degree or JD preferred)
At least 7 years of experience in healthcare compliance, privacy, or HIM, including 3 years in a leadership role.
Certification in healthcare compliance, privacy, or information management, such as CHPC, CHC, or RHIA.
Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, HIPAA, HITECH, privacy laws, and HIM best practices.
Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate sensitive and confidential matters.
Proficiency with HIM software, compliance tracking systems, and Microsoft Office.
