Job Overview

Heritage Health Care is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of patient care, medical procedures, and healthcare documentation, with the ability to work effectively across diverse clinical settings. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient-centered care, ensuring safety standards are met, and supporting interdisciplinary collaboration to promote optimal health outcomes. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives through compassionate and expert nursing practice.

Duties

Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Administer medications and injections accurately following aseptic techniques and prescribed protocols.
Perform specialized procedures such as IV infusions, catheterizations, suturing, and wound care while maintaining strict infection control standards.
Monitor patients’ physiological responses, manage acute pain, and respond promptly to emergency situations in critical care or emergency room environments.
Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans aligned with clinical guidelines such as NCQA standards and ICD coding requirements.
Document all patient interactions comprehensively in medical records ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Provide patient education on health management, medication administration, and discharge planning tailored to diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, and individuals with developmental disabilities.
Support long-term care facilities or home care settings by delivering consistent nursing services that adhere to state and federal regulations.

Skills

Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation.
Extensive experience with complex clinical procedures including trauma medicine, ICU care, neonatal resuscitation procedures (NRP), and dialysis treatments.
Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology essential for comprehensive patient assessment.
Skilled in critical care response procedures such as airway management, ventilator support, and acute care interventions.
Ability to perform laboratory tests like specimen collection/processing and phlebotomy with precision.
Familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding for accurate diagnosis classification and billing processes.
Excellent communication skills for triage assessments, patient education, case management, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Experience working with diverse populations including seniors in memory or dementia care settings; children in pediatric or neonatal units; individuals requiring hospice or palliative medicine services; or those with infectious disease needs.
Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law related to occupational health cases; experience in hospital medicine or outpatient clinics is highly valued.
