Full Job Description

On-site Workforce Operations Manager (2nd Shift)

Location: West Point, GA

Shift: 2nd Shift, Monday through Friday, 6:30pm to 6:00am (Flexibility required to assist with business demands across various shifts)

Salary: Based on experience

Role Overview

This position is responsible for driving operational excellence by managing daily production output, fostering employee engagement, overseeing staffing logistics, and leading quality and continuous improvement initiatives. We are seeking a hands-on leader who excels in manufacturing environments and is dedicated to employee development and high-quality service delivery. You will collaborate closely with HR, quality teams, and production leadership to meet critical safety, productivity, and workforce goals.

Operational Leadership

Supervise and coordinate 2nd shift production activities to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets are met.
Track essential performance metrics such as attendance, quality output, downtime, turnover, and headcount to help optimize overall team productivity.
Maintain consistent operational flow across shifts to ensure all production objectives are successfully achieved.

Workforce Management

Oversee initiatives related to employee retention, engagement, performance, and daily attendance.
Facilitate the orientation process and track training progress for both new hires and current staff members.
Provide support for employee relations through counseling, coaching, and managing corrective action or investigative processes.
Ensure all operations remain in full compliance with labor laws, company policies, and specific customer requirements.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

Uphold internal quality management systems, OEM standards, and customer-specific requirements.
Identify and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency, workforce performance, and employee engagement.

Safety & Compliance

Maintain a secure and compliant workplace by adhering to all company policies and OSHA regulations.
Guarantee that all organizational procedures and industry standards are followed to support a safe environment for the entire team.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
Three to five years of leadership experience within operations, manufacturing, staffing, or workforce management.
Deep understanding of onboarding, recruiting, employee engagement, and workforce planning strategies.
Proven experience applying continuous improvement methodologies and Lean Manufacturing principles to drive performance.
Proficiency in using ERP systems, HRIS/ATS platforms, Microsoft Office, and production reporting software.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience within the automotive manufacturing sector.
Lean Manufacturing certification.
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt credentials.
Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or similar quality management frameworks.
Background in managing high-volume production environments.
Project management certification or relevant experience.
Experience overseeing contingent labor programs or staffing operations.

Physical Requirements

Ability to spend extended periods working directly on the manufacturing floor.
Frequent walking and standing throughout the production facility.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
Flexibility to work outside of standard shift hours to meet business requirements.
