Full Job Description

Now Hiring: Assistant Business Manager/ Bookkeeper

Company: C1 Services, LLC Location: Moss Bluff, LA Pay Range: $18.00 – $22.00 / hour Hours: Flexible, 30–40 hours per week (Options include early or late schedules such as 6:00 AM–1:00 PM, 10:00 AM–5:30 PM, or a standard 8:00 AM–4:00 PM). A 4-day work week will also be considered. Work Environment: Office-based with the opportunity for 1 day of "work from home" per week after 6 months of consistent and productive performance.

Who We Are: C1 Services is a small, family owned, but fast-growing municipal and industrial utility contractor specializing in building waterlines, sewer mains, drainage, and underground infrastructure. We believe in a "hands-dirty, not just hands-on" approach to ownership and treat our team like family while providing a clear path for growth. We are looking for an Office Manager / Bookkeeper who operates with a mindset of ownership, treating numbers not as abstract figures, but as a true reflection of the business's health.

The Role: This position goes beyond standard clerical work; you will be the guardian of our accuracy, accountability, and cash flow. You will be the linchpin of our financial discipline, helping to protect the company's margin and supporting sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial & Project Tracking: Track the financial health of our projects, calculate percent complete, and update the company’s Work in Progress (WIP) schedule.
Accounts Payable & Receivable: Keep track of and pay vendor and subcontractor bills, ensuring timely invoicing and compliance.
Field Communication: Contact field employees and foremen to collect daily field documentation (such as labor hours and equipment usage via systems like Raken), track materials, and manage Purchase Orders (POs).
Reporting & Analysis: Perform financial analysis, understand cost data, and generate structured weekly financial reports that show cash position, upcoming obligations, and cost-to-complete forecasts.
Inventory & Document Management: Track inventory movements and materials assigned to specific projects. Organize and manage all critical documentation, including utility locate tickets.
Human Resources: Process new hire paperwork and keep up with employee benefits.
Errands & Site Support: Safely and reliably run errands to get documents and information to and from the job site. Expect approximately 3-4 hours per week of errands.

Requirements:

Reliable Transportation: Must have reliable transportation for commuting to and from the Moss Bluff office, as well as for running weekly errands. (Note: Vehicle usage for errands will be reimbursed at $0.50/mile).
Detail-Oriented: A strict dedication to reporting discipline, accurate data entry, and reviewing reports for completeness.
Proactive Communicator: Comfortable asking questions, holding field crews accountable for reporting deadlines, and professionally communicating with suppliers and financial partners.
