Start Your Hospitality Career at The View
You don't need years of fine-dining experience to begin a career in exceptional hospitality.
The View Restaurant at Mirror Lake Inn Resort & Spa is looking for motivated Backwaits / Server Assistants to join our morning and evening dining teams. As an AAA Four Diamond restaurant, The View provides an opportunity to learn professional service standards while working alongside an experienced culinary and dining room team.
We are looking for people with the right attitude first: individuals who are dependable, energetic, personable, eager to learn, and genuinely enjoy helping both guests and teammates.
Restaurant experience is helpful, but it is not required. We are willing to train the right person.
For team members who demonstrate strong performance, reliability, hospitality skills, and leadership potential, this position can also be the beginning of a path toward Server, Bartender, Shift Coordinator, and other Food & Beverage opportunities within the Mirror Lake Inn.
The Position
Our Backwaits are an important part of the guest experience and much more than traditional bussers.
Working alongside our Servers, Hosts, Bartenders, Culinary Team, and Dining Room Leadership, you will learn the rhythm and standards of professional restaurant service while helping ensure that every table receives attentive, polished, and efficient hospitality.
Successful Backwaits learn to anticipate what a guest or Server will need next rather than simply waiting to be asked.

· Maintain tables throughout the guest experience, including water service, clearing, silverware replacement, and general table maintenance.
· Clear plates, glassware, silverware, and other service items efficiently and professionally.
· Assist Servers with food delivery and coordinated course service.
· Help ensure tables and the surrounding dining room remain clean, organized, and guest-ready throughout service.

· Help maintain an efficient flow of service between the kitchen and dining room.
· Ring in, prepare, and/or deliver room service and takeout orders as assigned.
· Support teammates when needed and contribute to a positive, professional work environment.
Dining Room & Service Station Readiness
· Set up, stock, organize, and maintain service stations.
· Polish and maintain glassware, silverware, and other service equipment.
· Maintain appropriate supplies of linens, tabletop items, and service materials.
· Complete assigned opening, running, and closing side work.
· Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, organization, and safety standards throughout the dining room and service areas.
What We're Looking For
Experience is welcome, but attitude and potential matter just as much.
The strongest candidates will demonstrate:
· A genuine interest in hospitality and providing great service.
· A willingness and enthusiasm to learn.
· A friendly, positive, and professional attitude.
· Reliability, dependability, and a strong work ethic.
· The ability to work as part of a team.
· Attention to detail, cleanliness, organization, and safety.
· The ability to remain calm, focused, and professional during busy service periods.
· Good communication and interpersonal skills.
· The ability to accept coaching and apply feedback.
· A desire to improve and take on additional responsibility.
Previous restaurant, hospitality, food-running, or tray-carrying experience is preferred but not required.

This is an active restaurant position. Backwaits must be able to:
· Stand and walk for extended periods throughout a shift.
· Bend, reach, lift, and safely carry trays, dishes, glassware, and restaurant supplies.
· Work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
· Maintain professional appearance and composure throughout service.
· Work a flexible schedule that may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Learn. Perform. Grow.
