Full Job Description

Job Summary

Busy law firm with multiple offices in Lubbock area seeks paralegal or legal assistant with experience in civil litigation, real estate, oil and gas, or probate. Firm primary areas of practice are oil and gas and real estate.

Responsibilities

Assist attorneys with case preparation by conducting legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools.
Draft and review legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, and correspondence.
Manage case files efficiently using document management systems; ensure all records are organized and up-to-date.
Support real estate practice and title company operations.
Conduct client interviews and document review to gather pertinent information for ongoing cases.
Handle administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, proofreading, transcription, and maintaining procedural law knowledge.
Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams via phone etiquette and professional client communication standards.
Assist in preparing for court proceedings by organizing documents and supporting litigation activities.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Experience

Prior paralegal experience in a law office setting is required.
Proficiency in legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis; experience with My Case or Net Documents a plus.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to draft clear legal documents and support client interactions professionally.
Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) along with familiarity with document review processes and procedural law standards.
