Full Job Description

Career Care Institute is looking for an assertive and confident Limited Permit X-Ray Technician Program Instructor/Externship Coordinator.

Applicant must :

Possess a valid Radiologic Technology certificate or a Limited X-Ray Tech Permit in the categories of chest, extremities, and torso-skeletal, which should also include digital radiography (Issued by California Dept. of Public Health)
Possess a minimum of three years of experience working in the field as an X-Ray Tech

Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop an educational training program for the campus to facilitate monitoring of current affiliated clinical sites
Evaluate all current clinical placement sites within assigned region for quality of clinical site, and appropriate placement of students
Routinely monitor and access (Spot Check) accomplishment of performance objectives of students as it relates to quality of placement and student satisfaction
Evaluate insurance and liability issues related to clinical site supervisors within close proximity to the school
Develop and maintain professional working relationships with additional clinical sites
Identify and develop new professional medical relationships with additional clinical sites
Identify and address student concerns, conflicts, and complaints
The LPXT Clinical Coordinator's main job is to ensure there is ample amount of clinical externship sites for placement of externship bound students
They are to search on a constant basis while out, visiting students for new clinical sites
When new clinical site agrees to receive students, complete and submit all required paperwork to CDPH/RHB for approval
Coordinate student placement and rotation in CDPH/RHB approved sites. (Student shall not be placed in unapproved sites)
Schedule on site visits to evaluate students' progress
Collect and record students time sheets on a weekly basis
Collect and exchange dosimeter badges and send old badges to RDC for reading
Clinical Coordinator shall be able to Instruct a class if needed to do so
Coordinator shall become familiar with CCR title 17 as it relates to the instruction of Radiologic Technology and Limited Permit Schools
Coordinator shall become familiar with all lesson plans in all courses he/she will teach
Participate in instruction of students
Cooperate with Campus Director and other CCI Staff
Opens and closes classrooms as assigned
Clock in and out
Encourage and assist students experiencing difficulty with progressing in their course satisfactorily
Monitor student activities and physical facilities for safety compliance
Take attendance, monitor student assignments, report absences, tardies, grades, and student conduct violations to the registrar via the roll book
Document all private discussions with students pertaining to school using available vehicles such as incident reports, progress reports, and/or Student Advisement Form
Provide weekly audits
Attend all staff meetings
Maintain current working knowledge of current and federal, state, and local requirements of the field in which they teach
Possess knowledge of Career Care Institute policies, syllabi, and lesson plans, and current school catalog
Monitor student breaks
Prepare for class in advance
Cooperate with Supervisors, directors, students, and advisory board members for improvement of the curriculum
Have expertise in their field and able to demonstrate all training procedures
Maintain appropriate supervision of the classrooms at all times
Report any major problems to the Campus Director
Adhere to the syllabus as designed or prescribed by Career Care Institute
Maintain supplies and inventory and order supplies sufficiently in advance to allow for shipping
Uphold and enforce school policies
Demonstrate professional behavior and demeanor at all times with students and with CCI staff
Maintain appropriate confidentiality with staff and student issues
Discourage classroom disruptions or engaging in excessive talking regarding non-school related issues
Maintain current CPR/BLS card and/or instructor card
Routinely review exams, tests, and if applicable quizzes on a weekly basis
Provide progress reports for students on a monthly basis
Hold discussions at suitable intervals with each student and his/her clinical supervisor and operator. Monthly documented clinical site visits shall be made.
Participate in instructor evaluations
Provide a thorough orientation for students that have just entered the classroom
Maintain continuing education units on a yearly basis
Re-certify existing California Radiologic Technology certification or Limited Permit X-Ray Technician as requested every 2 years to maintain
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

Is a qualified practitioner who holds either a diagnostic radiologic technology certificate issued pursuant to CCR, Title 17, section 30440 or a limited permit, issued pursuant to CCR, Title 17, section 30444 in permit categories: Chest, Extremities & Torso-Skeletal, as well to include Digital Radiography.
Has at least three years of experience in diagnostic radiologic technology, as applicable.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and computer skills required
Detail orientated and well-organized
Problem-solving skills
Positive attitude required
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment required
Excellent written and verbal skills
Computer skills in Word and Excel
Travel to local externship sites required
