CNC Machinist/Programmer

Pay: $37.00-$39.00 per hour plus $2.00 shift differential ($39-$41)

Shift: 2nd

Required Skill: Programming G-code and M-code for CNC machines

Description:

A growing industrial manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist/Programmer to join its machining team. This position is responsible for setting up, programming, operating, and maintaining large CNC machine tools to produce high-precision components. The ideal candidate will have strong blueprint-reading skills, experience with complex machine setups, and a commitment to quality, safety, and productivity.

This role works closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure components are manufactured accurately, efficiently, and according to customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) requirements.
Set up and operate large CNC machine tools, including vertical and horizontal machining equipment.
Program CNC machines to optimize machining performance and component quality.
Select appropriate tooling, feeds, and speeds based on material and machining requirements.
Monitor machining operations and make adjustments as needed to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish requirements.
Inspect finished components to ensure compliance with customer and engineering specifications.
Troubleshoot machining issues and communicate production, quality, scheduling, or safety concerns to supervision.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of scrap material and adherence to housekeeping standards.
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve processes, efficiency, and overall performance.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T.
Ability to perform machine setups with minimal supervision.
Experience programming CNC machines and making process adjustments.
Knowledge of machining practices, tooling selection, feeds, and speeds.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations including percentages, geometry, area, circumference, volume, and basic algebra.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and workplace safety.

Education & Experience

High School Diploma or GED required.
2 to 4 years of CNC machining experience required.
Experience operating large CNC machining equipment preferred.

Pay: $39.00 - $41.00 per hour
